Representative Hendricks is passionate about helping his neighbors in New Bedford. A graduate of New Bedford High School, he has lived in New Bedford his entire life.
The youngest of four siblings, Chris graduated from Temple University and earned his law degree from UMass Law. His law practice has focused on representing injured workers at the Department of Industrial Accidents and other worker rights issues.
Sober since 2009, Chris has been an advocate for the recovery community long before he ran for State Representative. Ensuring that workers and those fighting addiction have a voice on Beacon Hill, along with his dismay at the current political climate, inspired Chris to run for State Representative. His commitment, outreach, and hard work won him the seat in November, 2018. As of January 2025, Chris is serving his fourth term as a State Representative.
Since 2023, Chris has served on the Joint Committee on the Judiciary, and as the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Federal Stimulus and Census Oversight, alongside Chair Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis.
