Meet Chris

Representative Hendricks is passionate about helping his neighbors in New Bedford. A graduate of New Bedford High School, he has lived in New Bedford his entire life.

The youngest of four siblings, Chris graduated from Temple University and earned his law degree from UMass Law. His law practice has focused on representing injured workers at the Department of Industrial Accidents and other worker rights issues.

Sober since 2009, Chris has been an advocate for the recovery community long before he ran for State Representative. Ensuring that workers and those fighting addiction have a voice on Beacon Hill, along with his dismay at the current political climate, inspired Chris to run for State Representative. His commitment, outreach, and hard work won him the seat in November, 2018. As of January 2025, Chris is serving his fourth term as a State Representative.

In his capacity as State Representative, Chris has previously served on the Joint Committee on the Judiciary, the Joint Committee on Housing, and as the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Federal Stimulus and Census Oversight, alongside Chair Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis.

Since January of 2025, Chris has served as the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Steering, Policy and Scheduling, as well as a rank-and-file member of the Joint Committees on Transportation, Community Development and Small Businesses, and Economic Development and Emerging Technologies.
